Once you have decided to seek a new Building Manager some questions you should ask of the company you are seeking their services. 

  • are they a specialist building/Facilities management company?

  • Or, Is the company a Property Management company seeking a foot in the door for rentals?

  • Does your Facilities Manager belong to relevant Associations?

  • What does your committee need? a Building/ Facility Manager and/or Concierge service?

  • phone Body Corporate SECRETARIES who have worked with the company you are looking at.

  • Go to all Building Management company websites in your city. 

  • Source the Executive Committee Members of candidate buildings.

  • Seek out testimonials and endorsements.

  • Caretaker or Building Manager?

  • Arrange a meeting with the company executive to seek out what is right for you. 

  • Do they invest in their staffs education? Or are they just doing a job.  

  • Staff Presentation is important.

  • Check Industry affiliations.

  • What are their management systems? Are they Residential Building Management systems. 

  • How is staff selected for your site?

  • Does the Company have relief staff on the payroll?
